Audience Feedback - Second Draft Music Promo

Teacher's Feedback:

  • I like the improvements and the narrative is a bit clearer now
  • I like the sound before it starts - could you include the noise of typing on the phone? You would need to make it subtle
  • Lip syncing needs a bit of work
To improve-
  • The ending is a little abrupt. You could go back to your RMAs and see how they finish
  • I think that you could make the confirmation email clearer towards the end.

Focus Group Feedback:

Amy
  • I like the shots with the more lip syncing
  • I really like the pan shot of her playing the guitar, and the pan shot of her writing lyrics
  • I love the shots of her performing the song - the lip syncing and the matching to the song
To improve-
  • Between the performance and the final part of the music video, you could have strobe flashing images to cut in time with the drums to transition - either with one of the shots or both

Rhiannon
  • I really love it- I think the narrative is clear and if I hadn't have known the story I would have understood it
  • I love the lip syncing section with the colourful lighting - it appeared very indie and alternative, and added a nice performance element to the video, and looks very visually pleasing
To improve-
  • I think there may be a few too many shots of closing the laptop and putting it away, because it becomes slightly repetitive
  • There are certain sections where the lip syncing is perhaps slightly out of time with the music
  • Maybe have less shots of her taking off coats and putting jumpers on

Ben
  • The music was not totally in sync with the lips
  • I think its good overall
  • I like that you know her goal
To improve-
  •  Improve the lip syncing part so they are synced

Joe
  • I like the new shots of the guitar and lip syncing
  • The changes in shots flowed well, they weren't all over the place
To improve-
  •  In the email at the end, she spelled 'opportunity' wrong

From this feedback, we now need to:
  • Fix the ending so that it flows better and finishes less abruptly
  • Go back to the lip syncing parts and make sure they match the timing of the lyrics
  • Take out some of the shots of her putting on and taking off her coat and replace with more shots of her playing guitar and writing lyrics
  • Include ambient sound of typing at the beginning of the video
