After filming and editing the final product, my partner, Chloe and I agreed that we could improve it to be a much better standard. However, as there were many factors to change, including the acting, we decided it would be better to completely change the idea.
Initially, we re-analysed the lyrics of Brother to see what other ideas we could come up with. After constructing the first draft of our storyboard, we decided to use a female character as a protagonist, however the song 'Brother' would not fit as it is by a male singer. Therefore, we chose to change our song as well, but still one that was fitting with our idea. We found 'Vanilla' by a band named 'Fickle Friends' and it still worked with the storyboard.
Our new idea:
The music video would follow the narrative of a girl who is depicted as lonely and isolated. It follows her typical day of activities she does on her own, including walking her dog and sitting in a cafe. This story line fits with our target audience, as these are common emotions for teenagers to feel, as well as these activities being recognisable and relatable.
Within the story of her being alone, we also see the process of her writing a song and attempting to send it out to record companies to produce it. However, she is declined many times, but keeps attempting, and by the end she gets an acceptance email. Her song is then released as a single which is seen when she listens to it from her phone.
