Target Audience Research

To confirm what age range my music promo should be aimed at, I conducted a questionnaire whereby I asked many people, both male and female, of a range of ages if they listened to alternative indie music.

I asked the following four questions:

• Do you enjoy watching music videos?
• How often do you watch music videos?
• What is your favourite genre of music?
• More specifically, do you listen to alternative genre music?

I displayed the responses in tables and pie charts to clearly see what age ranges would be best to use as my target demographic:

To narrow my findings, I made another pie chart for question 1 and 4, specifically focusing on ages:

Overall, these made it clear that the people who answered 'yes' and 'sometimes' were commonly in the age range of 16 - 24. Therefore, I found that this age would be who I would target for my music promo.
