My partner and I both decided to use this design as for our final magazine advertisement, as it is simple, but still effective for our genre. The brightly coloured vanilla flowers as the background is part of the synergy linked with our album digipak cover, as this is important for a production. The photo of her holding her guitar is also significant to the narrative storyline of our music promo.
Amy:
- I like the use of two different type faces that contrast eachother
- I like the vanilla flowers because of the continuity
- I like how the prop of the guitar is included in it as it is in the video as well
Rhiannon:
- I really like it, it's bold and stands out
- I like the bold type face of 'Vanilla'
- I like how the photo contrasts with the background
To improve-
- The 'Fickle Friends' needs to be bolder
Ben:
- The leaves are nice and colourful
- The text is nice and big, and it's obvious what it is
To improve-
- The leaves in the background distract you from the girl. If you were to include them, have them less bright, and the origin to be from the girl, as they are all over the place.
Joe:
- I like how the bold font stands out
- I like how the repetitive pattern in the background contrasts with the darker text
To improve-
- The text at the bottom is hard to read, so try to make it bolder. But I do like the contrast between bold text and handwritten font
